    • 3. Overview: Gathering together SharePoint calendars III: Create your own calendar Does your company use Microsoft Windows SharePoint ® Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007? If so, you may want to create a calendar on a SharePoint site that your team can use to share information about dates and schedules. For example, you can create a calendar for tracking vacation dates or for communicating about schedules for employee training.

You’re not limited to having only one calendar on your SharePoint site. For instance, you might already be using a team calendar that was created for one specific purpose. In this course, you’ll see how to set up a new calendar on your site, one that you create from scratch.

It’s simply a type of list — a collection of information that you can share with anyone who has access to the site. Behind the scenes, the calendar looks a lot like other lists on a SharePoint site. Because the list contains calendar entries, its items have specific dates and times associated with them.
