How Do We Identify Students
 for the Gifted and Talented
          Program?
What is gifted a child?
• A gifted and/or talented child according to 704
  KAR 3:285 is defined as a category of
  “exceptional students” who are identified as
  possessing demonstrated or potential ability to
  perform at an exceptional high level in five
• categories.
What are the five categories?
•   Intellectual aptitude
•   Specific academic aptitude
•   Creative or divergent thinking
•   Psychosocial or leadership skills
•   Visual or performing arts
What are ways we can identify children in
 general intellectual aptitude in Kentucky?
