2. Times Now is a 24-hour English news channel based in
Mumbai and broadcast in India, Singapore and USA.
Arnab Goswami is the Editor-in Chief and Sunil Lulla is the
current CEO.
It was the first news channel in India to be launched on
mobile screens (Reliance Infocomm Network). The channel
also has a Consultant cum Strategic Affairs Expert, Maroof
Raja.
3. The channel was launched in 2006 by Times Global
Broadcasing Company Limited, a joint-venture of THE
TIMES GROUP (Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd.) and Reuters.
Sunil Lulla was hired from the Sony Entertainment
Television to be the CEO.
In 2008, Reuters exited the venture by selling back its
25.82 percent stake in Times Global to BCCL.

Hector Kenneth is the director, News Operations of Times Now. Although he had been a
journalist for many years, he came into prominence for his reports from Gaza, Career in
sports but is now heading the news division in TIMES NOW.

17. Exchange4media reports that Reuters is selling its 25.82
percent stake in the venture to BCCL, for which it had paid
$19 million.
BCCL will thus become the sole owner of Times Global;
from what we’ve heard, Reuters is not looking to exit India,
and is considering other partnerships.
Exchange4media confirms the same, saying that Reuters is
in talks with other news houses for a broadcast venture,
and one name mentioned is News24.
18. Times Now, the news channel from The Times of India
group, seems to be consolidating on top.
It had a channel share of 34%, well ahead of NDTV 24X7
and CNN IBN, which are tied at No.2 with 25% share each.
Headlines Today, from the TV Today Network, has a channel
share of 15% and NewsX, broadcast by Indi Media Pvt Ltd,
has a channel share of 1%, according to data from
audience measurement firm TAM India Pvt Ltd.
