The Problem

• Current fiscal deficit in Maharashtra

• The revision of MVAT without any opposition from

• The high court dismissing the writ petition to uphold VAT
Loopholes
• Karnataka model not applicable in MH
• Double taxation Sales Tax and VAT coupled with service
  tax , registration fees , stamp duty etc

• 1% and 3% rates for 2010 onward and 2006 -2010
  respectively is unfair business practice
