15. After a long battle with the City of
Hamtramck, we received our business license in
March of 2012. The Madrasha has close to 100
students as of now, and has 7 classes. Each class
is divided by age group and level (knowledge).
As much as there is good news, there are also bad
news. Funding from donations are drying up
quickly, and the Madrasha is facing financial
difficulties. Spending has always been tracked
very closely, and estimates show that the
average amount being spent a month is $5,000
dollars.
16. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah, we:
-Bought 2 buildings and operating as a
full-time Madrasha.
-Raised close to $180,000 in 1 year.
-Ordained 4 Huffaz in 2011 and 2 more
will graduate in 2012.
-More than 100 students have completed
the Ta’limul Quran & Islam course.
17. -Currently have 100 students with 7 highly
qualified teachers and offering 7 classes.
-Arabic language class with grammar (Nahu
and Sarf).
-A future youth center (up-coming project)
that includes a gymnasium and
conference/banquet hall.
-Repaved the parking lot and installed new
front sign.
-Updated bathrooms and created 3 custom
Wudhu spaces.
-Changed the roof on 2nd building.
-Built a handicapped accessible ramp.

24. What Needs To Be Done
What your donations are going to do….
26. Qarde Hasanat Repayment
We have a total of $40,000 Dollars of Qarde Hasanat (interest free loans) from
members of the community. We wish to pay them back as soon as possible.
27. Renovation Project
PHASE I
Phase 1 will focus on the Madrasha and it’s interior.
29. Renovation Project
New Roofing
Required by the city. Our
Madrasha needs new
roofing, as rain water, and soon
– melting snow, seeps in as it
leaks. It has ruined our old
carpet and needs to be taken
care of, as soon as possible/
Estimate - $10,000 or Less
30. Renovation Project
New Carpeting
We also need new carpeting
throughout the whole building.
Prayer rug style carpeting in
the main prayer hall, and lined
carpeting in the lobby and
basement floor.
Estimates:
Main Room & Lobby - $5,000
First Priority
Basement - $2,500
31. Renovation Project
Extending
Wudhu Room
There are only 3 wudhu spaces
in the wudhu room. With a
student body of almost 100
children and the many guests
we have - three aren’t doing
enough. The wudhu room was
newly constructed as soon as
the Madrasha was opened and
was built on a limited budget of
$5,000.
To extend the room, we would
need another $5,000
32. Renovation Project
Finishing
Basement
The wudhu room and
bathrooms, and office are in
the basement. The basement
can hold two classes.
However, it is partially
unfinished. The walls are old
and dusty, and there is no
flooring. There is only old tile
flooring that used to be under
old dusty carpet.
There is also a backroom that is
completely unfinished. All it
needs are wall paneling and
carpeting. The basement
needs energy efficient tube
lighting too.
Estimate - $5,000 or Less
33. Renovation Project
Façade Update
Although the least of our
worries – The front of the
building has not been ever
redone and needs to be given a
face lift. To make it look like an
Islamic Center, it would be best
to give it an Arabesque look on
the outside using mosaic
tiles, arches, and Islamic
calligraphy. It looks uninviting
and many people still can’t tell
that it is an Islamic Center, even
with the front sign.
Estimate - $4,000 or Less
34. Renovation Project
Landscaping &
Parking Lot
The city of Hamtramck has
REQUIRED us to do landscaping
near the front of the parking lot
(a triangular area). The parking
lot was redone a few months
ago, but needs to be painted
again, as the concrete/asphalt
paint has washed away due to
rain. Landscaping should only
cost about $2,000 - Breaking
down ground, cement, brick
wall, shrubs and plants, and a
wooden sign.
35. Renovation Project
Handicapped
Bathroom
The city of Hamtramck has
REQUIRED us to have a
handicapped accessible
bathroom, since our bathroom
and Wudhu rooms are in the
lower level. There is a room in
the back of the Madrasha that
is almost bathroom ready. Tiles
are already on the walls, and a
sink (meaning that plumbing
and water pipes are easier to
have access).
Estimate of $7,000 or
less, including labor and
material.
