Some basic information
• The school day: 8.45am to 3.10pm for Year 7 (Fri 2.10pm).
‘Social time’ - 40 minutes at lunch, 15 minutes at break)
• Uniform should always be worn correctly and smartly. We
have a UNIFORM CARD system in school to ensure high
standards. Please look carefully at the school website before
purchasing shoes for September
• When there is a problem… (telephone calls and emails)
• Cashless card system for the dining room
• Holidays in term time... No!

7. Year 6 Transition Evening 2011
On the first day...
• Pupils come into school using the front
entrance
• They meet their coach and get their
timetable
• Lunchtime arrangements
• An assembly
• Meeting their Year 9 Coaching Buddies and
Year 11 Mentors
• Workshops delivering key skills
8. Setting in Year 7
• In the majority of subjects your son/daughter will be set
in September based on Key Stage 2 levels that we
receive from Primary School.
• In the first half term pupils are then moved once Baseline
Assessments in individual subjects and CAT tests have
been completed.
• Please do not be concerned if your child moves sets in
the first few weeks.
• You have been given a booklet containing information
about levels and setting in core subjects – English,
Maths and Science.
