Chris asks…
Any nice place to stay and have fun in kuala lumpur?
Anyone able to recommend a cheap and good hotel? Plus where would be nice to have fun in
Kuala Lumpur.
Cuti-cuti Malaysia answers:
Okey to have fun in the day or noght its got to b ein th eklang valley. KLCC, Bkt Bintang,
Bangsar, Hartamas.
Good hotels – are very expensive like the JW Marriot, but if you want cheap, i’ll recommend
Federal Hotel. Its in the heart of town and its in Bkt Bintang and its cheap. You can shop, and

4. find anywhere to eat within walking distance. And cabs are by the plentyfold!!
Clubs at night – go to Zouk, Beach club, rum jungle and there are alot more within walking
distance from the above mentioned.
Shopping – i’d recommend One Utama – its in damansara but any cab driver would take you
there. Or you can take the train (LRT) to Tmn Bahagia station and take a shuttle bus there for a
cheaper solution
pirated dvds/ branded remakes of goods – go to this place called Petaling Street its near Bkt
Bintang and about 25 minutes walk from federal hotel (walking is faster than driving during
traffic jams).
Real branded goods – Star Hill, Bkt Bintang (10 minutes walk from federal hotel)
malaysian food stalls – jalan Alor opposite federal hotel, after the carpark area.. There you can
find the best beef ball noodles, rice n dishes, frog meat etc etc!! But its only open at night~
entertainment like cassino or arcade games – genting highlands. RM 70 to get there by cab and
it only takes 45 minutes. Or they have busses that go up but you will have to get the bus at the
terminal putra LRT station. Its a whole castle on a hill full of things to do like play games, go on
rides (roller coasters n stuff like that) and gamble if you are above 21years but only allowed in if
you dress formal.
Other than that, there’s SUNWAY LAGOON – its a theme park with rides and games. And
water games and rides!! Allot of fun
(the list goes on n on but im sure lonely planet is a better guide than i am!!)

5. Sim card in Kuala Lumpur w/ Internet access?
I need a SIM card (GSM) in Kuala Lumpur. I arrive at the KL airport and my hotel is in Bukit
Binting area. I need a SIM card to get internet for my laptop.
How much are SIM cards? Where can I get them (cheap)?
Cuti-cuti Malaysia answers:
I believe you are in Malaysia for a short term. In that case, just buy any Hotlink/Celcom/U Mobile
prepaid simpack as they are 3G ready. You can buy the simpack from any phone shop than can
be easily found around Bukit Bintang area. Pls note that you may need to use your 3G phone as
a modem.
