1. How did you attract/ address your audience?
My target market is both males and females aged fifteen and above as stated previously in the treatment. As my audience is rather varied I have selected a universal theme being jealously as it is a feeling that everyone has experienced or will experience at some time or another.
I selected a group of individuals within my target market to view the film opening and it appeared that they had enjoyed the film as the feedback given was mainly positive. Therefore, I feel that I have reached my target market. However, I am aware that Fixation may not appeal to all as everyone has their own individual tastes.
The feedback that was received from my audience was not critical of the narrative or concept “Identifies the genre and narrative well” however; the issues raised regarded camera work and framing. This has reinforced my statement that I have reached my target market. Another positive point that was mentioned in the audience feedback was that the music complemented the visuals and conveyed the genre.
Aspects that were considered less successful were the camera angles as the variation were limited. To rectify this I could have used a range of camera angles to make it more aesthetically pleasing for the audience. As time was against me I was unable to re-film therefore, the comments will be taken on board for future learning and experience.
When planning this piece, the aim was to create an atmosphere of suspense and tension. The particular moments that I felt this was created, was when Monica was cutting out the photograph of Mr. Carter and his wife, stroking her finger over Mr. Carter’s face as if to caress and writing in her journal as her intentions are unclear leaving something for the imagination.
Overall I feel that I have attracted my target audience and I feel it has been a successful project, something I would like to continue in the future.
