Import Courses

      Course to Course Sharing
Step-by-step directions for copying content from one Moodle
course into another. Useful to those who teach multiple sections
or those who wish to carry material from semester to semester.
#1 Open the course that you
   want to bring materials INTO

For example, if you wanted to pull
materials from Fall to Spring, open your
           Spring course.
#2 Click on Import

In the Settings menu in the left
              column of your page, you
              should see an Import option.
              Click on this.
#3 Select the course to import
   material FROM

You should see (or be able to
search for) all the courses you
                 have been given access to.
Select the one you wish to pull
                 materials from and click
                 Continue.
#4 Initial Settings

               Leave these three boxes
               checked and click Next.
#5 Select the items that you want
   to import

Anything that is checked will be
imported; anything that you do not
wish to import must be unchecked.

You can uncheck entire weeks/topics at
a time by clicking to remove the check
mark directly to the right of the
            week/topic header.
Once you have selected all materials
you wish to import, click Next.
#6 Confirm

All items that are about to be imported
will have a green checkmark next to
             them.
Once you are happy with the items
             selected, click Perform Import.

It may take a moment to load the next page.
#7 Continue

You should see that the import has been
      completed. Click Continue.

If your import did not complete, please contact a Moodle
      administrator (moodle@defiance.edu) with details about
the error message you see and the import you were trying
      to perform.
#8 Make any necessary updates
   or formatting adjustments

You should see that your items have now been
        imported into your course.
You will need to update available and due
        dates accordingly.
You also may find minor formatting differences
on the homepage resulting from the import (for
example, this import kept the fall weekly label for the first
week). These should be minor and easy to resolve
within the settings of the new course.
