A Power Point Presentation of A Jataka Story. To teach important moral values. Done by Bro. Oh Teik Bin, Buddhist Association of Lower Perak, Teluk Intan, Malaysia.
2. The Bodhisatta was once born as a white elephant. He was gentle, kind and helpful. As he grew up he found that most of his friends were bad, selfish and cruel. He decided to leave them.
3. The wise white Elephant helped many an animal in the forest. He was highly respected.
4. Varanasi is a very old town in India. The Forester came to get things from the forest to sell in the town.
5. The Forester grew more and more scared. Suddenly he came upon the white Elephant.
6. The kind white Elephant offered to help the lost Forester.
7. The kind Elephant brought the Forester to his home. He took good care of the Forester.
8. After a few days, the Forester wanted to go back to his place in Varanasi.
9. And so the Elephant took the man out of the forest. The cunning Forester studied the path out very carefully.
10. Finally they reached the main road. The Elephant asked the Forester not to tell anyone about the Elephant’s home.
11. At the Bazaar greed set into the Forester. He planned to get the ivory tusks of the white Elephant. He thought he would become rich.
12. And so the greedy Forester went to the white Elephant’s home again. He lied to the Elephant.
13. The kind and compassionate Elephant agreed to help the Forester.
14. Back in Varanasi, the Forester sold the ivory tusks for a lot of money. But he grew more greedy.
15. At the Elephant’s place, the greedy Forester lied again. He was really greedy.
17. The greedy and ungrateful Forester was really terrible. Could he get away with his very evil actions?
18. So we see that the greedy Forester met with a horrible death. He would most probably be reborn in Hell.
19. And so the kind and wise Elephant, cultivating his Paramis or Perfections as a Bodhisatta, was on the Path to become a Buddha one day after rounds of rebirths.
