OER search capabilities are currently limited because resources are scattered across different repositories and descriptions lack consistency. Creative Commons is working to improve OER search by indexing metadata and text to enable drilling down across repositories, establishing shared practices for content creators and aggregators, and developing an improved query engine and metadata support to help users better find and reuse open educational resources.
