FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Now We’re Cookin’ and The Book Cellar Present:
‘A Taste of Truffles’ with Chef Patricia Wells on Nov. 21
Wells will appear in Evanston for a cooking demonstration, tasting,
and book signing of her newest cookbook: “Simply Truffles”
Evanston, IL: Take advantage of a unique opportunity to see a personal cooking demonstration by
Patricia Wells, celebrated author and renowned cooking school teacher, as she shares the secrets
behind the mysterious black truffle. This evening offers foodies, Francophiles and everyone who loves
French cooking a wealth of truffle lore and some tasty treats – perfect for connoisseurs and novices
alike. Join us at Now We’re Cookin’, Evanston’s vibrant culinary service center, for a preview of her
new book, and a chance to sample some wonderful delicacies paired with the perfect wine.
Afterwards, she will be available to sign copies of her cookbooks, including her most recent one –
Simply Truffles.
“We are honored to host this legendary Chef,” says Now We’re Cookin’ Culinary Director Mary
McMahon. “It is intriguing to see how she explores this magnificent delicacy!” Drawing upon twenty
five years of hands-on research in Provence, the modern world’s capital of the black truffle, Patricia
offers a unique perspective on how to capture the truffle’s exceptional and complex flavor. The 18th-
century French gastronome Brillat-Savarin called black truffles "the diamond of the kitchen". “This evening is
a rare opportunity to interact directly with the leading American authority on French food. She will
share her knowledge of truffles, menu suggestions and wine pairings – perfect timing for holiday
feasts with friends and family!” says Now We’re Cookin’ Owner/Chef Nell Funk.
The “Taste of Truffles” will take place at the Now We’re Cookin’ kitchens at 1601 Payne Street,
Evanston. Tickets to this unique and educational event are limited, so make reservations early.
