PART 3
This is based on a challenge/problem identified by the participants. Participants are
expected to solve the challenge/problem using TRIZ methodology. Note that the problem
should have a certain level of complexity with impact or benefits if solved. Write down the
assumption and boundary condition, if any in the steps to solve the problem. New TRIZ
methods which may include new findings/research or new usages/applications of TRIZ are
encouraged.
4. 1I) PROBLEM STATEMENT
AGENDA
Every people require food and water as well as adequate nutrition for better life.
On this requirement, people struggling to fulfil it. However, this could be difficult to
meet the requirements especially those who are so busy with their working or too
much obsession in work in which they are restricting themselves to looking for
food and water outside. Various methods are made to not waste time looking out
for food and drink, one of the methods is to bring all needed refreshments. But
this way will be difficult to get a variety of foods and beverages. If someone is
looking to bring more kinds of food or drink, they have to bring more containers
along with other items related to the job. Finally, a person is only able to bring a
minimum type of drinks and food due to capability, comfort and convenience to
carry. Because of this, we propose a solution of new structure of a food and
drinks container.
5. 2II) BENEFITS AND /OR IMPACT IF PROBLEM IS SOLVED
AGENDA
• Benefit
1. By taking different types of food and beverage through this multiple
container, people can manage to have a complete daily nutrition. For
instance, the multi- container in beverage side allows the juice, and mineral
water filled differently. While the multi-dimension container in food enable
the vegetable, fruit, rice or others carbohydrates be stored separately.
2. The number of different container needed can be reduced into a single
container and become handy.
• Impact
3. This multiple container will reduce the quantity of food and beverage itself.
4. This multiple container indirectly instructs the bearer to eat a healthy and
with a right different type of daily food proportion suggested by the
dietician.

7. 4IV) TRIZ TOOL USED
The TRIZ tools used for creating the solution is based on the physical
contradiction. As the problem is to bring multiple food and beverage in a single
container, the concept of Separation in Space can potentially solve the problem.
Where do I want the multiple food and beverage?
In a container
Where do I want not multiple food and beverage?
Outside of a container
8. 4IV) TRIZ TOOL USED
Based on the suggested Inventive Principle, potential solutions are
Segmentation (#1), Local quality (#3), and Another Dimension (#17)
where a single container can be divided into two different local quality
and dimension, and every local dimension can be segmented with
different space without adding maximum the new component. The
reasons of the selection of the solution as follow:
Principle #1: Segmentation
•Divide an object into independent part
•Make an object easy to disassemble
•Increase the degree of fragmentation or segmentation
•Transition to micro-level
9. 4IV) TRIZ TOOL USED
Principle #3: Local quality
•Change an object’s structure from uniform to non-uniform change an external
environment 9 or external influence) from uniform to non-uniform
•Make each part of an object function in conditions most suitable for its operation
•Make each part of an object fulfil a different and useful function.
Principle # 17: Another Dimension
•Move an object in two-or three-dimensional space
•Use a multi-storey arrangement of objects instead of a single storey arrangement
•Tilt or re-orient the object, lay it on its side
•Use ‘another side’ of a given area.
10. 5V) POTENTIAL SOLUTION
The proposed multi-container has two
main parts. The first part is for beverage
container whilst the second part is for food
container. Each part is partitioned to allow
the multiple types of drink and food can be
stored separately as shown in the figure.
In this schematic prototype, each container
is partitioned into two parts which allows
two types of drink and foods can be stored.

11. 5V) POTENTIAL SOLUTION
In order to drink from this container, after
opening the lid, the head of the container can
be twisted in dual way depending on which
types of drink that we need. This mechanism
indirectly provides a lock and an open channel
to the beverage part and avoids the water in
each partition mixed or flows out together.

12. 5V) POTENTIAL SOLUTION
For the food container, it can be plugged under the beverages
container and can be moved easily as shown in the Figure 3.3.
The capacity for drink and food container is 2 litres and 1 litre
respectively. Note that the material of this multi container is
polycarbonate with BPA free which is good for health too.
