KING ARTHUR AND THE NIGHTS
    OF THE ROUND TABLE.
CODE OF CHIVALRY

This code went beyond the rules of combat, night hood and
                         courtesy.
Some of the things that are in the code are
                         Fear god
                       Serve the lord
                     Protect the weak
                        Live in honor
 Fight for the welfare of others
                      Respects women.
 Never turn back to a foe
 Speak the truth at all times
 Obey the person in charge.
NIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE.

The legend of the night of the round table, were that all the men sitting three
were to sit equal with everyone. There was one chair that no one could sit in
and if they did they would be sent to a terrible death unless they were saved
by the voice. When the king sat in the cracked chair of the wrong doer then it
                                would be fixed.

There is possibilities that the legend can be true, but likely it did not happen
in the time frame that they said it did, be cause of the amount of resource
that the story says that the night had, were not around at the that time period.
SIR GAWAIN

Sir gawain Accepts the challenge from the “Green night”
When he is challenged to hit the green night with and axe, he is going against
many of the rules that are on the code of Chivalry.
King Arthur and his knights of the round
               table.
ABOUT HIS LIFE.

King Author was born in a dangerous time, when he was he
was bon they had him sent away. When The king died, no
one knew he had a son until one day Arthur pulled the
sword out of the stoned, he was then crowned king, and
many other kings were very angry. In his rein there were
              many battles fought and won.
RELIGIOUS IMPACT IN MEDIEVAL
                              TIMES

           Churches Religion

In the churches sermons were Everyone believed in god, heaven
mostly about the terrors in hell. and hell. Their religion dominated
These sermons made people their lives.
    scared of going to hell.
HEAVEN/HELL

• To get into heaven you had to be let in by the Roman Catholic
  Church.
• They were taught that heaven was a holy place and you needed to
be saved and baptized to get in.
• Hell was an evil place and they made sure that you knew how
  terrible it was.
CHURCH DOMINATION

• The peasants had to work on the land
    for free.
• 10% of what they earned went to the
    church.
• You had to pay your taxes in either
    money or produce.
• Whatever they got in taxes they kept in
    tithe barns.
• If you didn’t pay your taxes you went to
    hell.
• The churches were all so wealthy
because you needed to pay for
    baptisms, marriage, and burials.
• You had to be buried on holy ground to
    go to heaven.
FEUDALISM

• Definition: The country is not governed by a
  king but by the individuals.
• The kings were the chief feudal lord but in
reality the individuals were rulers of their
  territories.
• The vassals did everything for their lord and
vice versa. You fed them, gave them shelter
  and protected them.
• Keeping your vassals children and family safe
  was an important task.
