Anne Lamott (born April 10, 1954) was born in San Francisco, and graduated from the
school of Drew. His father, Kenneth Lamott, was also a writer. His death was the focus of
his first published novel, Hard Laughter. He has a son, Sam, born in 1989 and a grandson,
Jax
I try to write the books that I would like to meet, to be honest, that touch issues of real life,
spiritual transformation, families, secrets, astonishment, madness, and that can make me
laugh. When I'm reading a book, I feel alive and deeply relieved to be in the presence of
someone who will share the truth with me, and I will shed a little light, and I try to write
these books. The books, for me, is a medicine.
