  1. 1. •We can learn much good from following faithful examples such as the apostle Paul. Phil. 3:17; 1 Cor. 11:1•We would do well to study about Paul’s heart and follow such goodness. Romans 9:1-3; 10:1-4; Phil. 1:6-11

Paul was Disciplined!• He used self control and constantly disciplined himself…1 Cor. 9:24-27• We all must add this quality to our lives. 2 Peter 1:6 – Allow God our Father to discipline us… Hebrews 12:5-10 – The Holy Spirit via God’s Word shall convict us of sin, etc. so we can correct and direct our life by His truth! John 16:8-13

Paul Motivated Others!• He motivated through encouraging words… Philemon 21• He also encouraged the brethren to motivate each other… Romans 15:14• Be careful, not everything edifies… 1 Corinthians 10:23• We are commanded to stir up to love and good works by faithfully assembling together and worshipping God. Hebrews 10:24-25
  4. 4. Paul Was Optimistic!• He was focused on the right things and was dedicated to doing the right things too! 2 Timothy 4:6-8• We are encouraged to live and plan for eternity. Matthew 6:19-21• It helps us to remember that, if we love God and serve him that all things work together for good… Romans 8:28-29
  5. 5. Paul Knew the Source of His Power! • It was God that sustained him! 2 Tim. 4:18 • It was Jesus that he could do all things through… Phil. 4:13 • God is the source of our strength too! Ephesians 6:10 • We also must trust in God and seek His help… Matthew 6:13; 2 Thes. 3:3; Phil. 4:19
  6. 6. Paul Was Satisfied with What He Had! Philippians 4:11 • A satisfaction that God gives us what we need when we’re faithful. Mt. 6:33 • A recognition that every good thing that we have is from God. James 1:17 • Even our ability to get wealth is from God… Deut. 8:18; Prov. 10:22 • We must develop this satisfaction and knowledge of contentment. Hebrews 13:5

Paul Was Persistent!• He showed diligence and persistence in teaching God’s word… Acts 28:24-31• It is not our responsibility to make people obey, but to teach the truth. 1 Cor. 3:5-6• We must always be teaching the Word of God… 2 Timothy 4:2• We should be steadfast and immovable in doing this… 1 Corinthians 15:58
  8. 8. Paul Was Happy!• He looked forward to enjoy this with the brethren… Romans 15:32• He spoke before Agrippa as this… Acts 26:2• The obedient righteous faith allows happiness… Romans 14:22
  9. 9. How Is Your Heart?• Is it focused on these good things like Paul was?• You can change your heart today by choosing to follow Christ and his truth! Jn. 8:31-32; 2 Cor. 6:1-2• Come to Jesus by… Hearing the truth 1 Cor. 15:3-4, Believing Jn. 8:24, Repenting Acts 2:38, Confessing Jesus Acts 8:37, Be Baptized Acts 22:16
