  • 1. Biblical Names of Heaven Heaven is commonly known as the place where God abides. Matthew 7:21  As we study God’s word we should notice the various names which refer to heaven.  The very thought of our true home should inspire longing to go there.  Let us seek to learn about these various names used for heaven. 
  • 2. My Father’s House John 14:2-3  This helps us to take our eyes off of the earthly kingdoms.  This is where Jesus was going and where he is preparing us houses to live.  We have a God-made house there. 2 Corinthians 5:1 
  • 3. The Holy Place Hebrews 9:12, 24  This speaks of Jesus our High Priest when He made the perfect offering of His own blood in the presence of God the Father in heaven. Hebrews 9:14 
  • 4. The Kingdom of Christ and God Ephesians 5:5 “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.”  God the Father and Christ’s rule in heaven are to last forever. 1 Corinthians 15:24; Ephesians 5:5 
  • 5. A Heavenly Country Hebrews 11:16  This description also shows the nature of the place in which they desire to be with God.  Like these faithful ones, we need by faith to look to God’s promises seeing them afar off, being assured of them we must also embrace them and confess that we are strangers and pilgrims on the earth.  Truly our hearts and citizenship is in heaven. Philippians 3:20; Col. 3:1-2 
  • 6. The City Hebrews 11:9-10  As Abraham we must look to this wonderful place which has foundations whose builder and maker is God.  A safe place that is earthquake-proof. Hebrews 12:25-29 
  • 7. The Paradise of God Revelation 2:7  Those who overcome will have access to the tree of life in heaven.  You can be strong and overcome with the Word of God. 1 John 2:14: 4:4; 5:4-5 
  • 8. Heaven Matthew 3:17  God the Father spoke from heaven.  1 Peter 3:22  Christ is now in heaven at the right hand of the Father. 
  • 9. Will Heaven Be Your Home? There are other names the Bible uses to describe heaven we have just noticed a few of them.  Get ready to receive eternal life and your eternal inheritance. 1 Peter 1:3-5  If you have never come to Christ, now is the time! 2 Cor. 6:2   Hear & Believe the gospel of Christ. Rom. 1:16  Repent of your sinful living. Acts 2:38  Confess Jesus. Acts 8:37  Be baptized into Christ. Rom. 6:3-6  Be faithful the rest of your life. Revelation 2:10
