It is illegal for someone 21 years of age to buy alcohol for people younger then 21. It is illegal for someone under 21 to posses alcohol and have the intent to consume it.

9) Do you want to attend college? 10) Do you plan on underage drinking in college?
13) Do you think that partying can take away from you doing well in school? 11) Do you think that partying can take away from you doing well at work? 12) Do you think that partying can take away from you doing well in relationships?
14) Do you think that others or yourself drink because friends, family or boyfriend/girlfriend drinks? 15) Have you love friends because you drink?
16) Do you think that you are a different person when you drink? 17) Do you think that other people are different when they drink?
Statistics about underage drinking. Alcohol is the most widely used substance used by people under 21. 10% of 10 years have had at least one drink. By the age of 13, 20% have had at least one drink. 70% of teens have had at least one drink by the age of 18. The highest rate of alcohol dependence in the US is among 18 to 20 years old. Underage drinking cause 5,000 deaths a year for people under the age of 21. 1,900 deaths because of motor vehicle crashes. 1,600 deaths because of homicides. 300 from suicides. And hundreds from other injuries such as falls, burns and drownings.
Survey and statistics. In April of 2010 Health Wave newsletter stated that 70% of teens by the age of 18 had have at least one drink, compared to the 85% of teens that took the survey. Health Wave newsletter also started that many teen drink because of the social system that teens live in. In the survey 83% of the teens said that they drink and others drink because of the people around them drink. 90% of agreed that underage drinking can influence you future.it may cause problems in school, legal problems and other drug use. About 92% of the teens who took the survey said they or someone they knew regretted something that did while that were drunk. These things may incude Driving a car. Getting into legal problems Risky sex Aggressive or violent behavior
What and who underage drinking can affect. What can underage drinking cause? Loud and aggressive behavior. Property damage. Injuries. Violence. Death. Who? Underage drinking can affect anyone including those teens who don’t drink.
Why teens choose to drink. The risk Not enough parental supervision Stress Social systems Peer pressure What they believe about alcohol.
Drinking and Driving. There are about 1,900 deaths each year of people under 21because of drinking and driving. 45% of people who die in a motor vehicle crash with a drunk driver under 21 are people other than the driver. In New York State if your blood alcohol level reaches .08% and you are driving you are presumed to be under the influence. Even though at a .05% blood alcohol level your judgment, coordination and vision are impaired and can cause an accident. The only thing that can sober someone up is time not coffee or a cold shower.
Alcohol is the leading cause for many things. In more then half the rapes among “college-age” students alcohol is involved. 40% of drownings are cause by alcohol. 75% of fatal accidents with vehicles. 1/3 of youth committed crimes happen after they have consumed alcohol.

Twisted and the real world. Just like in real world and in Twisted there are many parties with underage drinking because of the social system teens live in. During one of the parties Bethany gets really drunk and wants to hook up with Tyler. This is because she can’t think straight because she is highly intoxicated. Alcohol can lead to unwanted, unintended, and unprotected sexual activity and sex with multiple partners. After Tyler leave Bethany because he gets mad at him, he later finds her and her brother that are trying to drive home while they are still drunk. Tyler is able to make the right decision and drive from them because he has had alcohol. Alcohol interferes with your ability to judge risk and make good decisions. After the party there are picture of Bethany on the internet with her with passed out and naked in them. In rapes 53% of the victims were under the influence and 55% of the “alleged rapists” are also under the influence.
What Underage Drinking can cause. For those who drink before the age of 15, they are five times more likely to abuse or have dependence on alcohol then those who start drinking at the age of 21. It may cause risky sexual behavior. Which could lead to unplanned pregnancy and STDs. Brain damage. The brain is not fully developed until mid-twenties and when teens underage drink they are usually binge drinking and causing changes in the structure and function of the brain. When drinking you are not able to make good decisions. This can lead you into have legal problems which can effect you future.
Underage drinking. Underage drinking in a big problem in todays world it can effect your future in many ways. Laurie HalseAnderson did a good job in Twisted by showing what could happen in real life when you drink. Underage drinking has consequences.
