    • What is around Ontario?
    • Ontario has different regions
    • Read the names of some cities and towns in Ontario
    • Toronto is the Capital City of Ontario
    • Guelph is in Wellington County
    • Municipalities  Municipal governments are in charge of cities, towns, villages, counties, districts, or metropolitan regions. Puslinch Guelph
    • Municipalities have Mayors    Karen Farbridge is the Mayor of Guelph. A mayor is an elected person who serves as the head of a city’s government.     • What Do Mayors Do?  Mayors decide how to spend money in the municipality.  At city council meetings, where local officers discuss current and upcoming plans for their areas, the mayor listens to everything and has the power to vote on which plans should be put into practice.
    • Municipalities are responsible for:          Water supply Sewage and garbage disposal Roads Sidewalks Street lighting Building codes Parks Playgrounds Libraries
