2. In order to increase your product sales, sometimes it becomes necessary to
configure various conditions on shopping cart. However, this can be very useful
when providing free shipping to the customer whose purchase order is greater or
equal to defined price. Defined rules will be automatically be applied in checkout
stage.
In this presentation we will see if you want to set free shipping if the total
purchased price of customer is equal or greater than the specific defined price, in
this case we would follow steps mentioned here:
3. Step 1:
Log into your Magento admin and navigate to promotions --> shopping cart
price rules.
4. Step 2:
Here you can create new shopping cart rule by clicking on “Add New Rule”
button in the right upper corner.
5. Step 3:
On this page we need to fill the form with general information in order to
create new rule. You can simply provide rule name, description and the rest of
the settings.
6. Step 4:
Here you can click on the “Actions” tab in the left side menu to access
advanced shopping cart rule settings.
Here we can adjust various settings for the new rule which includes, discount
amount, maximum times discount could be applied and many more. Here you
will also find the option namely “Free Shipping” which will allow you to set
free shipping. In order to enable this option, you should select one of two
parameters: “For matching items only” or “For shipment with matching
items”.
7. Step 5:
Finally, you can save your newly created shopping cart rule to apply and it is
time to check how it’s going to work in the store frontend.
If the discount has been applied, you can assume rule is working as it defined.
It’s also possible to set more conditions like apply the rule only for specific
categories of products, etc.
In this way, you can configure the conditions on shopping cart rule.
