• Locate journal home page URLs to complete

generate APA style reference citations.

Double check for accuracy!

Citation generators often contain mistakes.

Cut & paste citation. Verify if citation is correct.
General Rules for Citing Scholarly Articles
CAPITALIZE:
  First word title and First word of subtitle
  All words of Journal Name

ITALICIZE:
  Journal Name + volume number

AMPERSAND “&”:
  Use & to connect the last author

DATES:
  Scholarly articles = YEAR ONLY (2013)
  Popular (newspaper/magazine) articles
        = Year, Month Day (2013, February 21)
DOI vs. URL Flowchart
DOI or URL – Verify if article has a DOI assigned. If no DOI
is assigned, list the URL for the Journal Home Page.

               Step 1: Google > Crossref.org > free DOI guest search to verify if article
               has a DOI. doi:10.10101010

               If no DOI has been assigned:

                         Step 2: Google the Journal Name. Locate the URL for the
