WHAT DOES IT MEAN
ANSWER
• plau•si•ble
Pronunciation: (plô'zu-bul), —adj.
1. having an appearance of truth or reason;
seemingly worthy of approval or acceptance;
credible; believable: a plausible excuse; a
plausible plot.
2. well-spoken and apparently, but often
deceptively, worthy of confidence or trust: a

WEATHER HEADLINES
• The leaves are starting to change color. During the spring and
summer the leaves have served as factories where most of the
foods necessary for the tree's growth are manufactured. This food-
making process takes place in the leaf in numerous cells containing
chlorophyll, which gives the leaf its green color. Along with the green
pigment are yellow to orange to red pigments as well. Most of the
year these colors are masked by great amounts of green coloring.
But in the fall, because of changes in the length of daylight and
changes in temperature, the leaves stop their food-making process.
The chlorophyll breaks down, the green color disappears, and the
yellow to orange to red colors become visible and give the leaves
part of their fall splendor. The best time to enjoy the autumn color
would be on a clear, dry, and cool day

ANALOGY OF THE WEEK
• EXCLUDE : INVITE :: _____ : quiet
• chatty
• church-mouse
• silent
ANALOGY OF THE WEEK
ANSWER
• CHATTY
• The best answer is chatty. The relationship
between the first pair of words, EXCLUDE and
INVITE, is that of antonyms—words that have
opposite meanings. Therefore, the second pair
of words must also be antonyms. Chatty is an
antonym of quiet.

  • 38. WEATHER HEADLINES • The leaves are starting to change color. During the spring and summer the leaves have served as factories where most of the foods necessary for the tree's growth are manufactured. This food- making process takes place in the leaf in numerous cells containing chlorophyll, which gives the leaf its green color. Along with the green pigment are yellow to orange to red pigments as well. Most of the year these colors are masked by great amounts of green coloring. But in the fall, because of changes in the length of daylight and changes in temperature, the leaves stop their food-making process. The chlorophyll breaks down, the green color disappears, and the yellow to orange to red colors become visible and give the leaves part of their fall splendor. The best time to enjoy the autumn color would be on a clear, dry, and cool day
