they are my favorite
animal.
3. Who am I?
Hedgehogs are small
little animals that
have quills pointing
out of their
back.Unlike
Porcupines
Hedgehogs do not
shoot their quills out
.
They are about 7-12
inches long & about
as tall as a
teacup.Their skin is a
dark tan color.
4. The Early Years
They stay with their mother for 6-7 weeks.
They are called hoglets or pups. They are
born blind. The infants are born with quills
under the skin, like pimples they pass
after they have been washed.
5. Habitat sweet habitat
Hedgehogs live in Deserts,open forests,
Hedges (DUH), and near settlements in
Europe. They live in burrows or nests
made from grass or leaves.
6. What’s on the menu
They eat Beetles, Ants, Termites,
Grasshoppers, Moths, Centipedes, Earth
worms, and berries.
7. Making tracks
On the footprint the toes are sharp and
smooth and the hole thing is short. You
would find them in Deserts, open forests,
near hedges or near settlements In
Europe.

lactose intolerant?
If necessary a
hedgehog can run
over 6 feet per
second.

Hedgehogs are found in Asia, Europe and
Africa.

Unlike porcupines,

muscles on either
side of a hedgehogs
back to raise and
lower the quills and
curl into a ball
