LEAD was founded in the run-up to the 1992 Rio Earth Summit. Two decades later we returned to Rio to celebrate our 20th anniversary, share our learning on leadership for sustainable development, and discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by today's sustainability leaders. We also introduced the LEAD way of learning to a brand new audience, and hopefully inspired many people to take action on sustainability challenges!
At our anniversary event on 17 June, we showed a slideshow

LEAD people in an organisation. It changes
that organisation. It gives it a new life, new
energy, and frankly new relevance. Nothing is
more needed than the kind of leaders which
LEAD produces.”

Secretary General, United Nations

“"LEAD is an organisation where racial,
social, economic and elitist barriers fall. This
is the place where the university professor
discusses equally with a student, where the
elected politician is comfortable with the
journalist and reveals their heart and not their
interest... LEAD is enriched by its diversity."”
Edmond Nanoukon, LEAD Fellow, Benin
