- As first speaker it falls to me to lay some of the groundwork for the later talks, introduce the key themes that will be expanded on by the later speakers. I’ve given a number of these talks over the last 18 months. I usually take the approach of introducing the social, business and technical trends that underlie Web 2.0. I reference the rise of broadband, a growing generation of digital natives, serious exploration of sustainable business models following the smash-and-grab of the dotcom boom, and the maturation of an number of key technologies and standards.
