C2 Cloud Computing System Upgrade: Storage by Cloud “6” Training Purpose Only
Agenda Objective Capability & Challenge Facts & Assumptions Requirements Deployment Model COAs Mission Support Analysis (SCOPE) Benefits Drafted SLAs Conclusions/Recommendations Proposed Strategy
Objective To obtain an executive decision on deploying a Command & Control (C2) Cloud Computing system upgrade by 31 DEC 15, which will enhance existing C2 Virtualization (C2V) SAN capability with additional cloud data storage in order to support the Warfighter in the Korea Theater of Operation (KTO), as well as, to take advantage of economies of scale and multi-tenancy to reduce the cost of using IT resources.
STaaS Storage delivery on demand Infinite storage size Bill for actual usage Data compression and deduplication Multi protocols
Facts & Assumptions Facts FDCCI/GNEC/YRP Increasing demand for data storage Limited resources Assumptions Leadership buy-in Funding will be available Total cost for cloud storage is less than existing SAN Meets security requirements Sufficient bandwidth available Highly technical skill sets available
Requirements Basic requirements: Cloud computing and storage – IaaS/STaaS Data retention/backup Outsource Metering and monitoring Management and governance Security Deployment Interoperability Portability Service Level Agreement (SLA) Functional requirements: Sits on top of virtual layer 3 APC’s under single cloud QoS
Deployment Model Private Cloud Definition - The cloud infrastructure is operated solely for an organization. It may be managed by the organization or a third party and may exist on premise or off premise.
