correspondence between ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and the
occupational health and safety specification, OHSAS 18001.
Environmental management systems closely follow the
principles of quality management (plan, do, check, and act).
This is particularly evident in the later stages of ISO 14001
(documentation, document control, checking and corrective
action and management review) which are more or less the
same as ISO 9001 but with the emphasis on environmental
protection. It does however differ from ISO 9001 in some
fundamental ways, particularly with regard to the concepts
