9. 2042 Virtual Human was endowed with the right of Neo-Human through an international vote by The United World. So, eventually, they can marry Neo-Human and get children with an equal status. 2043 Since the first murder case to a Neo-human was occurred by a boy, a 15-years-old Human at 00:01:01 am on 1st February, the rate of the crime to Neo-human by Human who can be just the visitors to the virtual world had been increased radically. The situation began to be out of control. In order to prevent the above crimes, MRGN (the Mental Research Group for Neo-world) was established by the regional anti-crime unit in Neo-world on 1st December 2043. SYNOPSIS

10. On 5th April 2044, the Visualising System for Human Emotion (VSHE) was invented by MRGN. There have been a series of experimental structures developed with it, to redefine an ideal form of the habitation for Neo-world, namely, ‘Sentient Structure’. The present - 2044 SYNOPSIS

11. Sentient Structure Understanding your emotion Time - AM 10:34:22, 11th May 2044 Characters - Dr.K68774 : A Neo-human and researcher for MRGN, an operator of the Sentient Structure. Jerold : A Human, 16-year-old volunteer for the simulation test of the Sentient Structure Location – Dr.K68774 : The simulation lavatory for the Sentient Structure in VSHE unit in MRGN headquarters in Helsinki in Finland in Neo-world Jerold: Simulation station L-09, MRGN London, External branch gate, Falmouth St. London An experimental simulation of Sentient Structure Jerold is sitting on the simulation chair in CAVE, a big surrounding screen and Dr.K68774 is showing up on the screen from Neo-world. Dr.K68774 : Hi! Jerold, I'm Dr.K68774. just call me, Dr. K. Thanks for your volunteering for the test. How is your feeling today? Jerold : Not too bad, Dr. K. Dr.K68774 : O.K! Let's start this test. It doesn’t take a long time, but it may make your feeling weird. If you can't stand it, just tell me. I will release you. Jerold : I already feel strange. Dr.K. Dr.K68774 : Just relax yourself, it doesn't hurt you, it's easier than playing your favourite game, Starcraft 2044. Jerold: Um… I prefer Soldier 78. It's more exciting. Dr.K68774 : But it's too violent for you, I think. Jerold: I know that. That's why I volunteered for your research. Dr.K68774 : Good. Let's start it. Are you ready? Jerold : Yes. Dr.K. Dr.K68774 : OK. Some kind of strings will grasp your body. Actually they come from a haptic machine to capture your emotions. Jerold: I know it. I've heard this process from my friend. Dr.K68774 : Good. The tentacles of the haptic machine come out from the back of chair and extend each tip to Jerold's head and arms. Then, they stick to his head and arms tightly. Jerold : Oh. 12. Sentient Structure Understanding your emotion Dr.K68774 : Don't worry! Jerold. As I said, it doesn't hurt you. Just don't try to move your body. Jerold : OK. I feel better now. What's the next step? Dr.K. Dr.K68774 : Just see the front screen, Jerold. The screen begins to wave its surface, moving continuously, and transform into a three-dimensional structure. The structure suddenly expands and occupies the room completely. Now, Jerold is in the Sentient Structure. Jerold : Wow! It's cool! What's the ugly object? Dr.K68774 : It is yourself, the metaphor of your subconsciousness. Jerold : No! I can't understand. It's so crawly. Dr.K68774 : Let me explain it. The grotesque form is caused by the processing programme, called the matrix of Morphological Botany. It means the structure is created as an organism by embryological programming of a vegetable cell. So it grows itself, transforming its form continuously and reacting upon the change of your emotion. Because … Jerold : Please stop. Dr.K. Morpol… what? It is too difficult for me, Dr.K. Dr.K68774 : Oh, sorry. I've made you confused. Ok. Let's suppose that you are in a botanical garden, and there is a seed you should breed, but what you have to do for it is just staying with it. Because you are the soil, you are the nutrient for it. Once it captures your emotions, it starts to grow and… Jerold : Oh. I'm not good at Biology something. Now I will just try to make it pretty . Dr.K68774 : You can't design it. You are just the farmer who gives it nutrients. Actually I can't control this process as well. Jerold : Why? It is your creature. Dr.K68774 : No, I did not made it. It had created itself. You just gave it energy and I just inserted generating programme. There is no designer for the shape. Jerold : But you can expect what it is going to be, can't you? Dr.K68774 : At first, we thought that, but we couldn't. We had ignored the possibility of Genetic shifting , because this is very unusual phenomenon in the vegetable kingdom in the real world. But it has occurred continually in these virtual simulations. Strictly speaking, it's fully occupied an evolutional process, breaking ordinary evolution. Jerold : I think you treat me as an intelligent guy like you. Anyway, what is the Genetic shifting? Dr.K68774 : Oh. Sorry. Have you heard about Darwinism? In the sight of Darwinist, Mutation should be the representative phenomenon of Genetic shifting. One plant’s mutation is caused by the fighting instinct to preserve its species, adapting to external environments and defeating the natural enemies. But Genetic shifting phenomena in this structure are just to satisfy its own instinct of eternal evolution. And there are no limits to its desire in the virtual world. This is what we missed.

13. Sentient Structure Understanding your emotion Jerold : It is still difficult for me to understand what you said. Look! It's changing. It's curved. It was green, but now bluish. And wearing some kind of skins, again and again. I like it. What happen to it? Dr.K68774 : That means you've got depressed, I think, caused by my boring speech. Let's think about something exciting. What’s your favourite sport? Remember that you mustn’t think violent games. Jerold : Are you kidding? The most exciting thing is killing enemies, with guns, knives, hammers and saws. Soldier is the best. It gives me more realistic feeling. Who enjoys real sports nowadays? It's an old fashion. You must know that! The structure is rapidly transforming its form, extruding and twisting itself and changing its colour into shiny yellow and orange. External organs are swelling up and they are extruding out of the external skins. The structure is spinning faster and faster. Jerold : It's beautiful! I made it. It's me! Look at these beautiful colours and subtle motions. It’s unbelievable. Dr.K68774 : Don't think the bizarre games any more. The structure is suddenly deforming itself, and exploding the internal organs, remaining its traces. Dr.K68774 : Ok! The test has finished. Jerold : What? I'm still enjoying it. Dr.K68774 : Hah hah! Sorry for that. It's enough for you. In my opinion, your emotional character is not stable. If I were you, I should quit enjoying such violent games. It's harmful to your mentality. Anyway, if you wish to quit them, we will help you. I can allow you to take the metal treatment at Mental Clinic-L09 for free. It's a kind of reward for your volunteering. Jerold : No, thank you, Dr.K, I don't want to do that. Actually, they are a part of my life Dr.K68774 : Ok. I don't want to push you anymore. Good bye, Jerold, Jerold : Good bye, Dr.K. The Sentient structure is setting back to the front wall, transforming its three dimensional structure into the flatten image. Now the surrounding screen shows other Sentient Structures, operated by other volunteers. They are innumerable.

Metamorphosing Structure interactive with users’ movements Zora’s secret lies in the way your gaze runs over patterns following one another as in a musical score where not a note can be altered or displaced. This city which cannot be expunged from the mind is like an armature, a honeycomb in whose cells each of us can place the things he want to remember: name of famous men, virtues, numbers, vegetable and mineral classifications, dates of battle, constellations, parts of speech. But in vain I set out to visit the city : forced to remain motionless and always the same , in order to be more easily remembered, Zora has languished, disintegrated, disappeared . 15. A virtual city composed of particles like musical notes which interact dynamically with users’ movements and also change its shape continuously. The colour, brightness, scale, movement of each fragment are main factors by which the structure of the city re-transforms. Metamorphosing Structure designed by users City + User + Interaction

16. A city is composed of its memories. Every building and every bridge have their own stories. The stories become our memories. We also generate memories. We also keep the memories by hiding them on many scattered place in our city. The memories in each person’s mind become a pattern. The pattern is the city that we live, but his city is different from mine, because he has different memories. The city is dynamic since our memories are changing. The city is growing since we are generating new memories and we are inheriting our ancestors’ memories. When we do not want to have more memories and we want to remember only the same things, the city will disappear. Zora has disappeared for a long time. There are still a few of hexagon boxes which the people use to store their memories. Therefore, each of them has been keeping a person’s unique memory. When this city was flourishing, you must have seen the floating pattern in the sky which used to change by each individual’s movement and vary by their memories. One day, a navigator, Marco Polo, come here with a sorcerer who is able to evoke the people’s memories from the storages.
