Gal 4: 1-7Under guardians/stewardsThe Greek word used there is “Epotropos” – “one who has the care and tutelage of children – a tutor.In the absence of inward disciplines, the guardian imposed outwards disciplines to completely shut up orkeep the child in check.Paul equates children to slaves – under bondage. Gal 4:1The law was our tutor, to keep us in check until we matured into sons, the adopted sons of God. - Gal 3:23 -25. The outward controls should give way to an inner reality and control of the Spirit Gal 3:25,26What are the external things that keep us in check? Religion, programs?
Sons represent the Father. When people see the son, they know he speaks for the Father. The sons interests, concerns, character reflect the Fathers. Sons reflect the image and likeness of their Father – We are to be clothed with Christ. When people see us, they see Christ. Romans 13:11-14The conduct/behavior of sons gives evidence of the relationship and likeness of God’s character.
For sons to be formed, there is a laboring that takes place. It is not an automatic transition. Gal 4:19
God is sowing sons into the various sectors of government in our nations.There is a battle going on for who will occupy the greatest space thus have the greatest influence. Zechariah 9: 13-15.
It is God who is raising sons; It is God who is setting the stage for war between the sons of Zion and the sons of Greece – (the two opposing world views – God vs Man).He is making His sons, the sons of Zion into swords of mighty men. Sharpening, training, targeting.God is ready for battle!
We are His weapons of war to bring His judgments in the earth.Isaiah 26:9 “…For when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness”
They will lay new foundations for nations and sort out situations that have been there for generations. They will bring healing to the land and its people. As in Obadiah 21, they will cause the kingdoms of this world to become the kingdom of our God. These sons will take responsibility for their homes, their places of work, their cities, their nations. They will contend with the sons of the evil one to dislodge them and take control for our God. God’s heart and interests will be their concern and interests.
Their identifying mark is humility.
For sons to be formed, there is a laboring that takes place. It is not an automatic transition. Gal 4:19Challenge yourself to read, read, read God’s word. Plan on 3 chapters a day. Fill your mind with the word of God. The Holy Spirit works with God’s word deposited in your heart. The angels of God respond to God’s word. Psalm 103:20
Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, that you may prove what is that food and acceptable and perfect will of God.”Receive the mind of Christ
Sonship is costly. Like diamonds, sons are formed under great pressure e.g Moses, Daniel, Joseph, Esther, David, Paul and Barnabas.
Rev 1:6 He has made us to be Kings and Priests. Let us rise and take our place as kings to cause the Kingdom of God to reign in all spheres of society. Romans 8: 19. “Creation, is groaning for the revelation of the sons of God.”
