Q: Do I have to apply for Prefectship?
A: No. All students will be expected to grow their leadership skills as a Senior
Student at MLC School. Your Luminary program will contain Leadership activities.
All students will have a Prefectship Progress interview and receive a Prefectship
Progress Letter.
Q: I am an IB student. Can I count my CAS activities for Prefectship?
A: No. CAS activities are mandatory for IB students. Students should be able to
demonstrate sustained commitment to an activity beyond their CAS
commitments.
Q: I am not involved in a Service Group. Will I qualify?
A: Every student presents a unique set of leadership experiences and the Prefect
Profile is a guide. If you have high level involvement in a particular area and not in
another then it will be taken into consideration.
Q: I joined the jersey committee – does that count?
A: No. The jersey committee serves the needs of year 12 only rather than the
broader school community.
