This document provides an overview and instructions for a PowerPoint training tutorial for teachers. The training has two main goals - to teach basic and intermediate PowerPoint skills. At the basic level, teachers will learn how to create a presentation from a blank template and insert new slides. At the intermediate level, teachers will learn how to add animations and insert graphics from the internet. The training concludes with instructions on how to properly save a PowerPoint presentation. Assessment questions are included to check teachers' understanding of the material covered.

Teacher Training on
Microsoft Power Point
The problem is: Teachers lack the
necessary skills, training, and knowledge to
use technology in the classroom to support
learning.
It has been observed that some teachers at
Monarch High School lack the basic
knowledge and appropriate skills to use
Microsoft PowerPoint to enhance his or her
teaching.
Text/Audio Narration: PowerPoint presentations are an essential part of educator’s instructional tools. With the arrival of new National
Standards for teacher effectiveness pressures for using technology has made some teachers apprehensive. When completing the Webbased tutorial teachers will strengthen his or her success with technology to expand opportunities to narrow the scope of the lack of
necessary skills, training and knowledge to build a successful Power Point presentation to enhance a content lesson.

What is a Power Point?
A PowerPoint template is a pattern or blueprint of a slide or
group of slides that you save as a .potx file. Templates can
contain layouts, theme colors, theme fonts, theme effects,
background styles, and even content.
You can create your own custom templates and store them,
reuse them, and share them with others.

Conclusion/Summary
This tutorial is an immediate need for Monarch High School
and it is clearly aligned with the new National Standards for
teacher effectiveness. It is a wonderful example of how to
help teachers reach his or her goals in technology efficiency,
and designed to give teachers the tools and knowledge they
need for integrating technology in the classroom.
Because technology training cannot be learned in a day. It is
the goal of Monarch’s teacher leaders to provide more
training on how to effectively integrate technology in the
classroom.
Text/Audio Narration: The degree of the measurement will be implemented by having 100 %
participation from teachers. Each teacher will present his or her PowerPoint
to their observing administrator as part of their portfolio process for teacher effectiveness. Because training can not take place in a day, Monarch High teacher leaders will
continue to provide technology training for teacher effectiveness. This is the end of the first session for Power point training. Microsoft office has other examples that can be
used for your own exploration. Simply use this link provided to you on slide 11. This tutorial will be shared with the staff in the Google drive and has meet the needs of
learners at a basic and intermediate level. Thank you for participating in this professional development workshop for technology training and teacher effectiveness.

Editor's Notes
Programmer notes: According to Sklar (2009) Planning the site will include a detailed initial planning phase. The ABCD approach will walk you through each step. The Web-based tutorial will have emphasis on the teacher as the learner. The teacher has the need to learn basic computer skills based on the new National Standards for teacher effectiveness. The behavior of this presentation will focus on the teachers demonstrating adequate knowledge to feel comfortable running a PowerPoint to introduce a lesson. When completing the Web-based tutorial he or she will strengthen their success with technology to expand opportunities to narrow the scope of the lack of necessary skills, training and knowledge to build a successful Power Point Presentation with 100% participation. The context for the technology Web-based tutorial training will include two overlapping goals of implementing basic and intermediate levels for using Microsoft PowerPoint. At a basic level teachers will learn how to create a presentation using the blank presentation option, and how to insert new slides. At the intermediate level, teachers will learn how to add animations, and insert illustrations from the Internet. Both groups will also learn how to save his or her work and exit Microsoft Power point successfully. When the tutorial is completed it is expected that each teacher complete a PowerPoint to introduce a lesson in his or her content area. The segmentation used in this presentation are the graphic images downloaded from Microsoft. There is a video link on slide 11, that will introduce the learner to many features on adding animation to the PowerPoint. The text will give step by step guides for further explanation of steps in the process of working PowerPoint. This presentation will not include audio and is intended to be presented in a professional development teacher training session.
This slide is demonstrating how to insert a slide from a document file located in the computer.
