• Primary Source of Human Service assistance in North Fulton
since 1983

– Financial Assistance Program
– Food Pantry
– Thrift Shop
– Seasonal/Special Projects
• Holiday Programs; Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and more
• Back to school Program
• Warm Coat Program
• Case workers saw 4,632 families in 2008
– 85 families/day in 2007
– 135 families/day this winter

Financial Assistance Program
• Program assists local Families & Individuals in Need
• Goal to maintain stability during emergencies due to unexpected:
– Job loss
– Injury, Illness
– Divorce, abandonment
– Medical concerns
• Goal to make sure that 85% of our families are able to maintain
stability during their financial crisis.
• Project success can be measured by the # and % of families
assisted who are able to remain in their homes through these crises

CG funds would be used only to assist local families with
emergency needs. A $40,000 grant would stabilize and
prevent eviction for an estimated 160 families.

7. NFCC Agency Strengths
• Collaboration with other service providers to
ensure assistance is coordinated and addresses
range of family’s needs.
• 100% of moneys donated by the community
goes directly to families in need. Administration
and personnel expenses are covered by retail
income from our Thrift Shop and grants such as
United Way and Fulton County.

8. Agency Challenges
• NFCC income has Increased 20%
• But Requests are up 45%
– Therefore ability to help individual families is less
• All forecasts are that the depressed economy will
not recover for 18 + months. More and more
families will be needing help at a time when
fewer and fewer are able to donate funds.
