Google AdWords Multi-Agent, real time delivery of contextual advertising Jeremy CadeGriffith University
What is Google AdWords? Real Time Contextual Advertising Application Main goal is to deliver highly relevant adverts based on a users search input. Secondary goal is to generate revenue for Google and it’s shareholders.
So Why Multi-Agent? AdWords serves contextual results to a range of Google products and external services On the order of hundreds of millions responses per day Multi-Agent allows for separation, distribution and autonomy of the different components and responsibilities of the AdWords System.  A traditional approach would not be able to handle the load or the demanded response times. Agents exist for almost all of the different functions within the AdWords system.
AdsBot-Google
AdsBot-Google? An Agent specifically for checking the quality of an ads landing page. Landing Page Quality is decided by a number of different metrics.  Traditionally done by hand e.g Eyeballing a website. Yahoo (Overture) ads in the early 00’s
AdsBot-Google ,[object Object],It is reactive bot. It relies on instruction from the AdWords system as to which pages to look at. Hence responding to it’s environment It is social. It shares the same cache that all Google bots share to ensure multiple do not bots request the same pages
What’s so special about it? AdBot-Google is an extension of Google's Website guidelines Autonomy Distribution Shared Cache
Evolution? AdsBot-Google is driven by the Ads Quality Team within Google They decide on the metrics.
AdsBot-Google Recap It exists to automate the quality score procedures Expensive when done by hand. It’s autonomous It’s reactive It’s Social
