• Australia tops the world in salaries paid to MBA graduates with employers
paying an average of $US113,100 ($120,229), according to a new survey of
more than 4000 employers globally.
• It found strong demand for MBA graduates in the Asia-Pacific region (of
which Australia is a part) where MBA hiring rose by 20 per cent in the past
year and was the main factor driving world growth of 14 per cent in MBA -
hiring. China, growing by 35 per cent, and India, growing by 29 per cent,
were the standout growth areas for MBA graduate jobs in the past year.

• There are several reasons why these salaries are so high. First, incomes in
Switzerland are higher than average; the Swiss per capita income is
$80,000. Other explanations include the strengthening of Swiss currency,
