  1. Здесь я расскажу о том, откуда взялась тема. О том, что тема на самом деле должна бы называться «Быть или не быть ПМом», но в силу того, что лет 15 назад были очень популярны люди со значками «хочешь похудеть? – спроси меня как», мне очень захотелось назвать тему именно так как я назвал. Рассказать о том, что эти люди делились на 2 категории, те, кто хотел заработать денег, и те, кто в силу старой закалки все еще искренне хотел помочь людям. Далее о том, как ко мне приходят люди из разных областей и спрашивают, что надо, чтобы стать ПМом. В большинстве случаев это технические специалисты, которые считают, что достигли максимума на своей должности и думают, что руководитель проектов - это следующая "ступень". Несмотря на то, что каждый отдельный случай уникален, и с каждым человеком необходимо работать индивидуально, я все-таки взял на себя смелость объединить общие вопросы и рекомендации, которые помогут определиться с тем, стоит ли менять карьеру или все-же лучше и далее заниматься техническими задачами и расти "вширь".
  2. Я уже ИТшник и хочу стать Пмом. – я не могу дать ответ человеку, стоит или нет, я могу дать направление. При этом упомянуть историю про Макса, который читает Скалу и хочет быть ПМом.
  3. Я не ИТшник, но менеджер в другой отрасли и хочу стать ПМом. Кейс про Андрея, который из отрасли телекоммуникаций.
  4. Я рядом стою с ИТ. Работаю в ИТ компании, но не вовлечен в проекты. При этом со стороны вижу эту «кухню» и хочу пойти в руководители. История про толкового ичара ставшего ПМом, а также про толквого охранника, который читал книжки по бухгалтерии.
  5. да. Иногда, если это действительно синиор ПМ, до которого надо расти лет 5-7, а не сразу став Пмом.
  6. Да, только и делает, что говорит на митингах. А то, что подготовка к этим митингам это куча расчетов, анализа и тп. Который делается по ночам. Т.к. Весь день митинги, и т.п.
  7. Приходит на 12 дня, уходит 18. ничего ж не делает. А то. Что первый митинг в 7 утра с Австралией, а последний в 23:00 с Калифорнией и поэтому приходится хоть как-то «выкраивать» время на решение семейных и личных вопросов не учитывается. О нормальном сне вообще молчу .

О том, что есть регулярные викли репорты (как для клиента, так и для РМО), регулярные отчеты перед менеджментом, регулярные презентации и так далее, что есть операционная работа, которую не особо автоматизируешь, счета клиентам, закрытие зарплат и т.п. Напомнить о технических Пмах, которые сразу рвутся это автоматизировать.
  9. Как и админы. Если все работает, то ПМ не нужен. А вот как только все станет плохо, тут же вспоминают. С админами та же история. Анекдот: 5 людоедов устроились на работу в очень крупную фирму. В день их первого выхода на работу генеральный директор им говорит: - Теперь вы часть команды. Зарплата здесь высокая, и обедать вы можете в нашей столовой, таким образом не беспокоя других сотрудников. Каннибалы обещают никого не трогать. Через месяц генеральный директор снова приходит к ним и говорит: - Вы очень хорошо выполняете свою работу, и я вами очень доволен, но вчера пропала уборщица, и теперь весь офис грязный. Вы, случайно не знаете, что произошло? Людоеды клянутся, что ничего об этом не знают. После того как директор ушел, самый главный из людоедов спрашивает других: - Ну и кто ее сожрал? - Ну я, - признается один из них. - Идиот! Мы весь месяц ели маркетологов, управляющих, региональных менеджеров, бренд-менеджеров, и никто ничего не замечал! Ну на хрена, на хрена ты сожрал уборщицу?!

  11. Таким образом, как мне кажется, отличаются ПМы этих двух типов. Оба нужны, просто под правильного заказчика.  Technical - When customer has very good product owner/manager and clear vision on what he needs from business perspective and needs pure development without any consultation, then he would need such type of manager who’d solve technical questions fast and will be able to cover basic technical things fast without involving team members. Non-Technical. When customer has just a list of ideas/money and needs somebody who can help with business, who can make an order and prioritization of that ideas, etc.
