  • robertludlow robertludlow Truly one of the most useful slideshows I have ever seen! I am a physical education and health teacher who now has many ideas for projects that I can use for my middle/junior high level students. The learning contracts, activity menu and RAFT are just a few of the ideas that will certainly be implemented into my lessons! Thanks.

  • ChandraGarcia Chandra Garcia Thank you for such a great presentation and overview of differentiation and technology. I found many of the websites useful and am eager to try some them this coming year. I also appreciated the graphics of different learning styles. I would like to make a poster for my classroom for reference for me and my students. 11 months ago Reply

  • seelah seelah I found the slide show one of the best documents I have read on implementing differentiated instruction thoughtfully and effectively in the classroom. I particularly found the ample resources listed of great value, particularly in terms of the use of technology. I also found the idea of creating choice boards in the classroom and the learning contracts very helpful. 1 year ago Reply

  • ksmcconnell ksmcconnell What a great slideshow! When I read I was going to have to read this slide show for my assignment, I cringed a little because I often find slide shows invaluable. But, this was not the case for this slide show. What a great snapshot of differentiated instruction and what a wealth of resources that were presented. I will definitely use some of the web sites that the presentation linked too. Thank you for this great information! My students will definitely benefit from my reading this. I can't wait to start the learning contract and the BINGO card! 1 year ago Reply

  • craigsegal ASDP at ASDP Thanks for the presentation. I found a lot of valuable ideas: the activity menu, the arrangement of agreed work topics placed on bingo board, and the tiered activity charts. The chart of learning modalities is valuable, too. 1 year ago Reply

  • lruoti lruoti I liked Carol Ann Tomlinson’s definition of DI. She says it’s just a teacher acknowledging that kids learn in different ways and then responding to it. The kids who we think of as being uninvolved or as behavior problems will usually be more cooperative in a flexible classroom. I also liked the RAFT and the Writing Bingo. The Writing Bingo would be great for me to use with special needs children. 1 year ago Reply

  • elizabeth7418 elizabeth7418 Great slideshow! I just read Rick Wormeli's 'Fair Isn't Always Equal,' and a lot of your material ties in with what he writes about. I'm definitely planning on implementing a number of DI strategies into my classroom this year, particularly the Bingo idea. I also like RAFTS. Thanks! 1 year ago Reply

  • gunner4242 gunner4242 Awesome slide show Lauren! I have never heard of the teacher/student contracts before, but I love the idea and concept behind them. I also enjoyed the ideas behind RAFT's! I will be student teaching in less than a month and plan to implement both of these things into my lessons. Thanks!

  • kateberlin kateberlin This is a great review of what differentiated instruction is all about.
    3 things I learned are:
    1. Children benefit from choice
    2. Technology can help teachers differentiate
    3. RAFTS!
2 things I plan to implement in my classroom are:
    1. A choice board
    2. teaching students how to blog
1 question I have about differentiation is:
    1. How do you handle student privacy issues when posting student work online?
