    • 1. What is it?• National organization for AME students• Leadership, teamwork, citizenship, character• Regional, state & national competitions• Showcases the skills of all DATA students• Organize & fundraise for DATA activities and Skills USA competitions Professional attire expected for comps

Initial cost?• $13 per student (paid by school district)• ~$12 per student for regional competition• ~$150 per student for state comps (SD)• ~$175 per student for nationals (Missouri)• Travel & hotel are separate beyond regionals• Competition attire is required• Fundraising will be needed beyond regionals
    • 4. Officers• President,Vice President, Secretary• Treasurer, Reporter, Parliamentarian• 10th & 11th grade President• Digital Imaging & Digital Storytelling Reps• Members at Large
    • 5. DutiesPresident- Grade 11 or 12• Presides over chapter meetings• Works with other officers to prepare agendas• Represents SkillsUSA in school and communityVice President- Grade 11 or 12• Presides at meetings and other functions in theabsence of the chapter president• Supervises all committees• Serves as program chairperson, introducesprograms at chapter meetings
    • 6. DutiesSecretary- Grade 11 or 12• Maintains all chapter records• Records minutes of all meetings• Handles all chapter correspondenceTreasurer- Open• Keeps records of chapter funds• Collects annual dues from members• Prepares financial statements, including annualfinancial statement

DutiesReporter- Open• Writes news stories on chapter activities• Contacts school newspaper and the local newsmedia about SkillsUSA events• Gets acquainted with local news editorsParliamentarian- Open• Oversees proper business procedure of allchapter meetings• Serves as consultant and expert onparliamentary procedure

    • 9. This month...• Fri 9/17- Meet w/potential officers @lunch• Mon 9/22- 250 word essays due by 8am• Tues 9/21- DATA Teachers review essays• Wed 9/22- Officers announce at B2S Night• Wed 9/29- First officer’s meeting!• Regular meetings planned Wednesdays @3pm
    • 10. How to apply?• Sign up for positions• Attend meeting THIS FRIDAY @12:30• Submit essay convincing us why you want the position• Essays due by 8am Monday!
