The Hospital de Sant Pau in recent times has launched several innovative
initiatives in the field of eHealth. Some examples:
• Rehabilitation Service: platform for home rehabilitation of dysphagia
• Neurology Service: Ambient Assisted Living platform for elderly and
dependent
• General Surgery Service: 3D imaging systems for virtualizing operations
• Gynecology Service: simulation of laparoscopic surgery
• Service of Endocrinology: monitoring blood glucose and insulin in patients
with type I diabetes
• Service of Cardiology: Cardiac image analysis for flows in 4D

i2cat experience in ICT research and innovation in the
healthcare field
• i2Cat Foundation is a research and innovation center aimed at
developing the future Internet
• i2cat promotes the integration of all stakeholders in the
healthcare system through innovation projects aimed at using

Living Lab methodology

• Create an eHealth center addressed towards R+D+I, in order to
foster initiatives and projects that bring value to patients and
health services
• To promote an environment of innovation, creating synergies
between patients, clinicians, engineers and all stakeholders in the
healthcare value chain
• Collaborate with all the actors in the ICT and Health sectors,
including other hospitals and health centers, research and
technology centers, industry and administration, social partners and
citizens

genomics, transcriptomics proteomics, cytometry and immunohistochemistry, animal facilities
and biobank
• Image platform, with the latest technology in the field of resonance and nuclear medicine, as a
