2. This shows that something bad is going to happen and therefore build up tension for the audience who are waiting for something bad to happen Here is an example of one of our shots from the horror footage. This would attract the audience as it shows a sense of tension and loneliness as it is a pretty empty and dark shot. This would appeal to the audience as they are watching the film for the tension and to get a thrill from the film. This scene does both of those things quite well as it builds up a sense of claustrophobic and confusion about the area it is shot in. The view of going from darkness in the foreground to the light to the background is something we experience when we die. (note the expression through the dark tunnel to the light).
3. This immediately becomes a psychological horror as the actions and vision viewed are not completely making sense and makes the viewer think about why things are happening. The plot is not spelt out. This shot will defiantly attract to the audience. This is because it is the first sign of a paranormal event in the footage. Once again it becomes a mystery why there is blood in the sink after the main character washed her face and doesn’t appear to be hurt in anyway.
4. This appeals to the audience as it shows something of paranormal activity and that fantasy that paranormal activity actually exists, which would probably be what the audience want to believe in and want to be seeing in a film. In this shot it shows the first glimpse of the villain/presence. This would be the main thing they want to see in the film, the paranormal, ghost, killer character of the footage.
