Simon & Garfunkel formed as a folk duo in the 1960s. Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel had been performing together since middle school and recorded their first hit "Hey Schoolgirl" in high school under the name "Tom & Jerry". Their first album together was released in 1963 and they went on to win five Grammys. The duo faced difficulties and split with shifting musical priorities, but both found solo success and occasionally reunited for albums and tours, creating iconic songs like "Mrs. Robinson".
