Jr. High Science Fair 2009
Guidelines and procedures :
- The Annual Science fair will be held from Nov. 17 to Nov. 23.
- An exhibition of all the projects will be held in the court yard and by
levels
- 1st. Round will be your evaluation of each group. 2nd round : The best
project of each group will be sent to participate in the contest (1st by
level, and then the first three places of each level will compete in the
Grand Final)
- Teams can be made up of min 5 s´s max. 6
- Each project will follow the scientific method
- Criteria to evaluate : Correct use of the Scientific Method; written report,
visual presentation, oral presentation.

- Table of Contents
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Research
- Conclusions
- Sources (bibliography)
B. Visual Presentation
- Science fair topics will be general for the three levels. Be sure each level
has minimum 3 teams per classroom working on the science subject they
are actually studying.
TIMELINE
Sept. 25 Organize teams
Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 Search for a topic
Oct. 5 to 7 Approval and Registration
Oct. 8 – 9 Gather relevant information. Be sure to register
observations (journal)
Oct. 9 to 16 Period Exams

2. Oct. 19 , 20 Write and experiment proposal and work on abstract
for approval.
Oct. 21 to 23 Start working on experiment
Oct. 26 to 30 Keep on researching as well as on experiment. Friday
turn in first draft
Nov. 3 to 6 Finish working on experiment and report. Start working
on display.
Nov. 9 to 11 Finish display and hand in final report.
Nov. 12, 13 Local presentations
Nov. 16 Get ready for Exhibition !!!
Nov. 17 Exhibitions 8th and 9th
Nov. 18 Exhibition 7th
Nov. 19 SF Contest 8th and 9th
Nov. 20 SF Contest 7th
Nov. 23 Grand Final SF Jr. High
