  • 2. Presentation of the subject Twelve million people are in famine crisis in horn of Africa, but this number ofpeople will remain high into 2012. Somalia is one of the areas most affected by the famine. Somalia has beenexperiencing a protracted conflict since 1991. The political and security contextsignificantly devolved in 2009 and 2010. This country faces a sustained and complex humanitarian crisis due to acombination of escalated conflict, perennial drought and subsequent food insecurity,disease outbreaks.
