Inequality and poverty affect each other directly and indirectly through
their link with economic growth
Issues are present in all parts of the globe but they show
different feature through countries.

• 3 million children die from malnutrition every year.
• In 2015, only half of the world’s working-age women are
in the labor force, compared to 77 percent of working-age
men.
• Women around the world aged 15-44 are more at risk from
rape and domestic violence than from cancer, car
accidents, war and malaria.

water, 37 percent are living in sub-Saharan Africa.
In sub-Saharan Africa, 589 million people live without
electricity.
Seventy-five percent of the world’s poorest countries are
located in Africa,
Women in sub-Saharan Africa are over 230 times more likely
to die during childbirth or pregnancy than women in North
America.
