This document discusses different types of sagittal plane deformities of the thoracic and thoracolumbar spine. It describes mobile kyphosis, which is correctable by muscles, and fixed kyphosis, which is not correctable. Fixed kyphosis includes Scheuermann's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, and senile kyphosis. Angular kyphosis can be congenital, due to tuberculosis, or vertebral body collapse from trauma or infection. Treatment depends on the type and severity of the deformity and may include exercises, bracing, or spinal fusion surgery.
