Damascus steel is a composite steel that has a distinct pattern when polished or etched due to its composition of different types of steel. It combines properties of various steels, making it both flexible and hard. Historically, it was important for making weapons. Now it is used for luxury goods like watches due to its aesthetic appeal. Procedures can be controlled to show specific patterns in the steel.

Damascus steel
The term "Damascus steel“ refers to a
material composed of different steels,
which can be seen in polished or etched
state and has a clear structure of
several alternating fields of different
materials. Damascus steel combines
ideally the good properties of various
steels. So it owns likely the flexible and
the hardness. The importance of
Damascus was in antiquity, especially in
the use of the material for the
production of weapons.
Today, we use hand-forged Damascus

steel for the refinement of exclusive
pieces of jewellery such as watches.
The aesthetic charm and individuality of

but unique expression of luxury.

Surfaces with patina-look
Oxidized surfaces of iron, copper, brass
or bronze and other metals are
currently very trendy.
The oxidation can cause partial or
entire surface as required, with the
degree of corrosion can be controlled in
detail. The fixation by ensures that the
optical subsequently remains stable.
At present, three different procedures
are available to realize rusty or patina
surfaces. On the first we are working
with real, solid base metals, which we

oxidize in the desired degree.
Alternatively, we cause on a thin
metalized surface, which was applied to
a plastic carrier for example, a true
corrosion layer. A third variant is the
use of a varnish, which also exhibit
patina effects.

Flambé Silver
Silver is an attractive precious metal.
Unfortunately, the surface turns dark
over time through oxidation.
By flambé we take this effect in
advance and give the precious material
a unique elegance. Thanks to this
processing step, the surface remains
stable. Especially in combination with
other materials such as wood, glass and
leather we create very exclusive-
looking products.
