2. What is programming?
 Programming – is the creative
way of talking to the computer
to tell it what and how to do
something you want it to do. To
program is to tell the computer
what you want it to do in a
language that it understands.

3. What is a program?
 a program - is a set of
instructions or commands
for the computer to follow
in order to do a specific
task. A program is always
written in a programming
language.

4. What is a programming language?
 a programming language -
is a language used to write
computer program and tell
the computer what and
how to do a specific task.

5. Types of Programs:
 1) Applications – a set of many instructions that is
compiled into one file to be run by the
computer.
 2) Utility – a small simple program that is written to
do a task.
 3) Service or Daemon – a program that runs
automatically by itself when a computer is run
and does its work without any user interaction.

6. What can be programmed for a
computer to do?
 A computer can be programmed to do virtually
anything with the right tools it needs to do the
task. Examples are:
1) To play music
2) To do mathematical calculations
3) To draw objects
4) To control machines
