2. The start of the trailer for The Ring Two shows shots of waves in the sea, and factory like
buildings, the colour palette is very grey and dull, this suggests the darkness of the film.
There is also a voice over and deep, slow music throughout these shots which makes it more
dramatic. You can also here the wind and the waves crashing which is pathetic fallacy.
The music then gets a little quicker and it is shorter notes and high pitched, this implies the
tone of the trailer is going to change also.
The pace of the trailer then changes from slow to very quick shots as different images begin to
flash on the screen.
There is then another voice over saying that a body has been found and it uses sound effects
such as a heart beat, this also speeds up the pace.
It then uses effects and drains the colour and the brightness is increased to give an illuminated
sense.
The screen then goes black and you hear a whisper saying “I found you” this suggests that the
pace is going to change again.
Writing then comes across the screen between each shot to build the tension.
Near the end of the trailer the voices gets louder and there is constant whispering which makes
it seem busier and hectic.

THE RING TWO
3. The trailer for House at the end of the Street starts with shots from the end
of the film, this is unusual for a trailer as it normally builds up to that,
however, this started with a fast pace and then it goes back to explain the plot.
Writing comes up on the screen between shots, I have found that this is a
typical convention of horror trailers as it builds tension.
The music isn’t a big part of this trailer, however, there are a lot of side
effects and screaming which takes the place of music.
The quick cuts gives the trailer a fast pace, it also changes its brightness which
I have found is also a common thing in horror trailers.
