3. It is a three-day festival which is
the end of the 30 days’ Ramadan
Fasting.
Many people wake up early on
the first day of the Ramadan
Feast. They put on their best
clothes, called ‘Bayramlık’
which they often buy
specifically for the occasion.
5. On this day, people have a large
breakfast. This symbolizes the end of
the fasting period.
6. During Ramadan, people wake up before
sunrise and eat before the ezan(muslim
call to prayer). When the morning call to
prayer begins they stop eating and their
fasting begins.

until the sunset

ezan they break
their fasting
especially with a
date or water.
8. On the day before the first
day of Muslims’ feasts
people go to graves and
pray for the dead. They
read The Quran and deliver
candies to the children.

relatives, especially older ones, and kiss
their hand as a sign of respect. Children
go door-to-door, kissing hands of the

door and people give them candies and
easter eggs. They go to church and pray
from 5 to 9.

Assyrian graves and play with
their easter eggs. The game rule is
