    • The human body heat loss is approximately 400 BTUH (117.3 watts).
    • This is broken down as follows:
      • RADIATION 150 BTUH (44 WATTS)

      • EVAPORATION 100 BTUH (29.3 WATTS)
  • 5. Air is cooled and falls. Air is warmed and rises. CONVECTION This is the transfer of heat by means of a liquid or a gas, such as air. This is the principle of heat transfer used by such things as electric convection heaters.
  • 6. EVAPORATION This is the process by which moisture is changed into vapor. As the moisture evaporates from a warm surface, heat is removed and the surface is cooled. An example of ‘ cooling ’ - stepping out of a hot shower.
