This document discusses the development of common courses across multiple colleges for an advanced manufacturing program. It outlines plans to have groups collaborate on developing safety, math, and other core courses to be shared among participating schools. Development teams will work on certificates and courses in areas like machining, welding, and engineering graphics. An implementation timeline is provided for developing new and revising existing courses and certificates to have them ready for student enrollment by Spring 2015. Regular meeting dates are also scheduled for the instructional design, development, and content teams to work on this collaborative course sharing initiative.
2. If several schools say they want a safety class it
doesn’t make sense to have everyone work
on it independently, instead we’ll get a group
interested in developing that class specifically
to collaborate so we end up with one safety
class that can be distributed to the colleges in
need of that course.
